Dr Fadi Barrak studied Dentistry and Medicine, graduating with a degree in Dentistry from Bristol University, followed by Medicine from Imperial College London. He is a Fellow of RCS England and an Affiliate of the RCS Edinburgh, having attained the Diploma in Implant Dentistry. Dr Fadi Barrak is registered as a specialist in oral surgery and is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the College of General Dentistry UK. He is a senior lecturer and the course lead for the Master's degree programme in Clinical Implantology at the University of Central Lancashire where he is responsible for the development and delivery of the curriculum.
Since 1994, Dr Barrak has been practising oral surgery in both hospital and primary care settings, having held positions of Honorary Maxillofacial Consultant at both West Middlesex and Ealing hospitals. He has also been a mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology and the International Team for Implantology. Furthermore, Dr Barrak has committed part of his time to primary research at UCLan and Imperial College London, where he completed his PhD in relation to the role of biomaterials in peri implantitis.
Dr Barrak is a trustee of Red Tribe Charity which is involved in healthcare provision, education and support for microbusinesses in South Kenya's Maassi community. In addition, he is a founding trustee of Starfish Clinic Project International (SCPI) which has been set up as a UK charity with the objective of helping to eliminate preventable illnesses and deaths within communities that lack basic medical care and education.
